FanVision is portable device designed to increase the in-stadium viewing experience for NFL fans. This device is only operational inside a FanVision enabled stadium. This device offers features such as instant replay from multiple angles, real-time stats, NFL Red Zone, Live Fantasy Football updates, and highlight reel of the game.
So far, only 12 NFL teams have signed up to use FanVision. The remaining 20 teams have not agreed yet. According to Stephen Ross, owner of Miami Dolphins who revealed FanVision stated, “A lot of them (NFL teams) are old school and don’t move too fast on new ideas, so they said, ‘Let’s wait and see how the other teams do.’ ”
For the first time, NFL fans inside a stadium will have control the way of their view of the game from the palm of their hands.

I don't know if this youtube video displays any form of progress in sports media technology, but i thought it was a great example of young fans' emotions at the end of a hard fought NFL football game. One could probably throw this video in the "Charlie bit my finger" category. Hopefully the Chargers can find some more fans like this young man, so they could sell out a home game, and San Diego fans could actually get the opportunity to watch a home game at home (hence, no television blackout).
The above link is an article relating to the recent problems of Brett Favre. Favre, who just recently turned 41, has been accused of sending nude pictures of himself to a female sports reporter, Jenn Sterger. The article goes on to explain that the sports media has been unable to turn their attention away from this story. The article goes on to explain how several sports media outlets, including Sports Center, Pardon the Interruption and NBC's Football Night in America have all discussed the issue at great length. What is interesting about this story is the amount of media attention it is getting (primarily because Favre is such a recognizable name in sports) and also for Favre's questionable use of technology. Sexting has become an issue in recent years, and it will be interesting to see how the media not only handles the coverage of this event, but also whether Favre could face consequences because he was sexting.
Wall Street technology moves to Vegas: Sports betting like day trading
Cantor Gaming, an affiliate of interdealer bond broker Cantor Fitzgerald, has adapted its technology to let sports gamblers make in-game bets. This new advance is definitely is a way for casinos to boost their business. With Cantor's technology, casinos can allow customers to bet on every play. Bookmakers can post odds on new situations as games develop, take in bets, and change the odds to balance their books.

Terrell Owens was fined by the National Football League this past week as he posted a message on his twitter during a time in which the NFL does not want their players on social media sites. Owens had, "A post on his Twitter account noted that a fan wearing his jersey at the Bengals' game against Tampa Bay would get a football signed by him and Chad Ochocinco. The message was posted an hour before kickoff, violating the NFL's social media policy that prohibits posts 90 minutes before a game." I sort of agree with the NFL here as they have to put a time frame on when players can access social media sites before games, but at the same time I feel that this was a cool way to get fans involved. Owens was just trying to have fun with his Twitter followers, it's just a shame he wasn't able to send out the message 90 minutes before game time.
